Bouncing on Life's Trampoline - Visitor's Poem
by Pranitha Devi Wickins
(Pietermaritzburg; kwazulu Natal, South Africa)
Up, down, up, down light little feet with smiling faces Up, down, up, down joyous squeals’, little hearts races
No cares, no worries, no challenges to meet just fun and laughter and being upbeat Up down, up down light little feet with smiling faces Up down, up down joyous squeals, little hearts races
Little feet soon grow up a bit no longer so light, so careless, so cute Up, down, up down heavier feet with determined faces Up down, up down get higher than my friends, win all the races
Up and down, up and down am I going as high as I can Up and down, up and down Can I go higher, look I am now a man
The “downs” knock the wind right out of my sales the “downs” are bad, I hate to fail but the harder I push and listen to the wise the quicker I bounce and the higher I rise
I’m on the trampoline of life I have to have a career and a wife a car, a house, a white picket fence a sport, a dog and good common sense
'Cos to have and to hold is not as easy as it seems when you plunge down low and you lose your precious dreams
But I continue to push and suddenly I’m up I feel the surge of joy as God overfills my cup
Up and down, up and down I love this game I call my life Up down, up down my success, my goals and my strife
The lower it seems that I sink the higher it is that I seem to rise So I ignore the obvious, necessary pain 'Cos my sight is on life’s upcoming highs
Up, down, up down light little feet with smiling faces Up, down, up down my little ones feet, their little heart races. P.D.W 8/07/2010
