Yes! I am a mustang!! I enlisted late as an E-3 because I first earned an AA. After my tour as Chief Engineer onboard the Adroit/Fortify/Inflict, I served two years as a mine countermeasures advisor in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. How did our paths cross? Wait! You're not trying to serve me an arrest warrant or summons or restraining order are you? lol
If we are old friends, my # is (editor has removed for privacy reasons). If you are trying to serve me an arrest warrant, My real name is Hector Gomez and I never served in the US military. I live in a tent just south of the border outside El Paso, TX.
Happy July 4th. That's an order, LT B.

Calling Al De Larosa or Delarosa by: Walter B
Al!
How in the heck did you ever find me on this page? I write occasionally in hopes of one day being published. If it were possible to combine Dave Barry, Mark Twain, and Ashleigh Brilliant into one author, I would be him! (Not too many people have ever heard of Ashleigh Brilliant. His claim to fame is all of his observations of life are expressed in 17 words or less. You won't believe how funny and profound one can be in 17 words or less! He's an easy read if you suffer from ADHD! I crack open a new can of Dave Barry's Cheez Whiz and delve into Brilliant's thoughts.
I live in Charleston, SC, and my phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. We have a lot of catching up to do!! Don't drop the ball, ship mate! Walter
[Fion:] Hi Al DeLaRosa, if you're reading the above comment by Walter B and would like to have his contact number, please use the "Contact Us" form on this website to reach me and I'll pass on his number to you. Please understand that for privacy reasons, I'll remove phone numbers.

LAMP: a Light to others by: PhatZ. Apelado
It takes a lot of effort to frown while it takes fewer muscles to smile. I rather choose to smile, because it helps in spreading the virus of loving and caring.
In fact, sharing your views and perspective (like yours) is a small act of kindness itself and it does make a difference to those people who have read it.
May God shine on you as you continue to be a "light" to others..

I am very inspired by this story. I work in a call center, and I deal with all types of customers. Every time I have to deal with a difficult customer and feel like I'm already stressed out, I think of your story and I get the strength to be nice to them because I know this is my job to help them and I hope in my own small ways I'm able to help them out.

Nice by: K. SUVAS SREEDHARAN
It is not that you should be nice with your customers or only when you are behind the counter, it is something which you should be with everyone. Everyone has problems, but you are really great if you can put your problems on the backburner and be nice with everyone, maybe your niceties will make someone who is in deep trouble forget his/her problem as well at least till the time he/she is with you.

Nice story to ponder... by: Monaliza Asedillo
I learned a lot from this story that you posted. And I also felt guilt, sometimes I neglect the fact that if you don't want to be treated badly by others you should not do unto other what you don't like others do unto you. Maybe I should always keep that in mind, and make sure to do my job as nicely as I can, without sacrificing the company rules, telling the customers what I can do rather than what I can't do. Also try to put my shoe on the customer's foot. I hope to hear more stories from you...

Chicken Man by: Walter B
I am told that I am "nice." By being nice, I get taken advantage of quite a bit. You've heard the quote, "Nice quys finish last," right? Well, that's only the first half of the quote. The real quote says, "Nice guys finish last on earth, but first in Heaven."

Why not choose to be nice? by: Sumter, SC
I too have lived by the rule "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and "If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all". I am said to be very sweet and very quiet.

Chicken Story Response by: Joanna Innes
Walla, you make a contribution to the readers of this inspirational site with your chicken story, one that's easy to read, with enough specific details and information to provide some meat to the carcus, and just the right amount of sentiment to fluff out the feathers on the old bird. I only wish you could find the time to start your autobiography. Your readers want to hear more of your stories in the navy, in the work place, and just in life.
