Cousins - Visitor's Poem

by Mary Walker-Butler
(Gadsden, AL, USA)

“Hey, Cuz’, what’s up?
I graduated to a sippy-cup!
You’ll do the same very soon;
Then we’ll start to use a spoon!

Ain’t this life an amazin’ trip?
Soon we’ll be eatin’ chips & dip!
We’ll even find that’s it real dandy,
When can eat choclolate candy!

Hang in there, Cuz’, and soon you’ll find,
That wearing diapers is a grind!
It will be such a relief,
When we can wear a big-boy’s brief!

We’re lucky to have great Moms and Dads.
Yeah, we’re very lucky little lads!
One day we’ll grow into two big teens,
Then we’ll be wearin’ tees ‘n’ jeans!”

Thanks
by: Mary

Thanks, Fion, for the comment! I appreciate your input. I did write it about two of my youngest grandsons, who are cousins and only a few months apart. The older one is now walking. I used it on a scrapbook page I did for them.

So cute
by: Fion

Hi Mary, thanks for sharing this very light-hearted and cute little poem that brings smiles to people's faces! I could imagine the bigger boy telling his baby cousin their happy future together.
