I Am Painted - Visitor's Poem
by Krysten Flohr
(Temecula, CA, USA)
I am painted. On a canvas, with pastels and chalk. And everywhere I've been, My painted heart, my painted footprint.
The ocean is painted, with different shades of blue, The oily waves have a special cue. The flowers are painted, do not walk on them, paint will cover your feet, in my world, people are painted. Anyone and everyone you will ever meet.
The leaves are painted, and they squish in my hands, the hills are painted, and all of their golden lands. The stars are painted, if you think about it, they are only small white dots, you will see in the world, the missed spots, that are not colored in.
My world is all painted, I can't live real, I can't live with you, You are real, and I, can't even feel.
I am painted.
But you still love me, don't you?
