I am who I am. I am black and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I am black and will always be black and I’m proud. People say my skin is too dark or my nose is too big or my lips are too big. So what I am who I am, I am black and I am proud. People say my hair is too rough and short. So what I am who I am, I am black and I’m proud. People say I’m ugly, so what I am beautiful in my own way. People say and say over and over again. So what I am who I am, I am black and I’m proud. Of all the things people say, still the fact remains I am who I am. I am who I am; I am gods’ most favored and greatest creation. I am who I am.
It was something I have always wanted to write about, which is to be proud of who you are - Black, White, Asian, or Hispanic. I am proud of who I am. Thank you.

You are who you are by: Fion
Hi Ali, thanks for sharing this poem that reminds us to be proud of who we are even when others have their own views of what beauty is made up of. When you are proud of your own beauty, it shines from within.
