Joie de vivre - Visitor's Poem

To hear the smile I affect on others engages my cause,
Cost nothing to enable confidence in those who are down,
Make them laugh behind tears and the ache disappears,
Take the deep breaths that fill their empty hearts,
Infectious moods of joy and energy rise to the surface,
Inspiring new self-images that hide deep in the cusp,
Folded pain unravels lines on the foreheads of dimness,
When I hear the call, I just pick up the phone and call,
...to pour my unreserved vintage of joie de vivre.
