Listen and You Will Know - Visitor's Poem

by Bob Remick
(Scottsdale, AZ, USA)

CHIPPING AWAY
It’s subtle, it’s blind.
It leaves reason behind.
You don’t know it’s coming until it is there.
It chips away at your marriage
‘til it’s too much to bear.
You can avoid it by taking care.
Make sure you’re aware.
Be thoughtful, attentive and kind.
Above all talk about what’s on your mind.
And if that doesn’t work--remember this:
End the day with a hug and a kiss.

Being aware
by: Fion

Hi Bob, thanks for sharing your experience in this nice poem about being aware in one's marriage and listening to one's partner. I believe you've listed out the essential qualities to keeping a sound marriage.
