My Dee - Visitor's Poem
by Mary Walker-Butler

An angel has been added to glory on this day;
God needed help on high so he carried you away.
I tried so hard to hold you and keep you at my side,
But it wasn't meant to be, no matter how I tried.
You fought a long, hard battle; at times you felt alone,
Sometimes you hid your pain, so no one could have known.
If I could have taken your place, and carried all the pain,
You know I would have done so, and eased you from the strain.
I miss your smile, your lovely face, and the joy you brought to all,
But when you heard your name above, you answered God's mighty call.
Rest well, in the warmth of heaven, my child, and know I love you still;
I know one day when I come to join you, you'll meet me on the hill.
I love you, Dee,
Mom
