Never Truly Met - Visitor's Love Poem

by Oscar Liggett
(Poole, UK)

You were so close, but I couldn't find you.
Our paths crossed but we never truly met;
all I had was your picture.
Lips with no kiss, tears with no shoulder,
I can’t be with you and it leaves me hollow.

I can’t hold you, or feel you;
I wouldn’t be able to let go.
So weak, and yet so bold;
But it’s worth it just to look at you, from afar
Because I know I will always still have your picture.
