Blindness can be blind in itself, The flowers you never saw And the smells you never admired. Wrapped up in your own world, You couldn’t see.
When you open your eyes let me know, When you sit and watch the stars I’ll believe you’ve found yourself, The day you see the sun goes down,
Will be the day you open up. When walking down that stormy street, Look at what’s really there. Every ugly thing has its golden beauty too.
If only you’d look with your heart And forget about your eyes They can’t see the gorgeous sights, They can only see the lies.
But it’s what laying beneath you need to see. Every raindrop has a glistening glow, The moon is a sight, out of this world, Watch the bugs on the amazing flowers,
Then maybe next time it rains, You’ll see past the stormy showers.
Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing this inspiring poem that urges us to open our hearts and learn to see with our "heart" more rather than with eyes that could delude us. Lovely!
