The Power of Hope - Visitor's Poem
by Dr Ram Sharma
(New Delhi, India)
A composition of, Four elements, Hope, doubt, dilemma And myself, Always was tense.
I gave it a test For a new direction.
It was long midnight Of my life; Raining torrentially Strong winds blowing.
Hope said instilling courage, The rain will stop, The wind be slowed, The night will slide, For the rainbow dawns, The sun will emerge, Golden and beautiful, For the rest of life.
Doubt said—but how? How long we have to suffer, And said, The rains can turn into snowfall, The wind can bring storm, More problem and destruction, The night could become more densed To a blinding darkness.
Dilemma said; If the rain will stop The speed of winds slowed Till the morning By then will your lone voice
The internal eagerness sparks! Hope gave many logics, But doubt whistled them all. And the dilemma did not accept Logics of hope.
And myself. I listened to all— The hope, The doubt, The dilemma; Scouting the vision Of the golden morning, With a curious mind, That when it will come, And what it will bring along.
I realized Virtues of hope, Peacefully talked Mind, words & unbroken thoughts, Which only hope Whispered to me. That there is one direction My hope is with me; I have faith in hope, For it has sustained The mankind for so long.
