The Too Silent Majority - Visitor's Poem

by Adrian McGinn
(Paris, France)

Oh society! Where is the silent majority?
Let us hear the big black truths
The bull, the manipulation, we with temerity
Turn a blind eye, lacking faith
Staying silent, fear of our conspiracy

The cover up, closing our ears and eyes
Blinkering our heart while perpetrators perpetuate
The cultures of organizations, institutions dive
Silence being golden for them who manipulate
As those of us who prefer a quiet life doze

Trueness makes the heart show wonder
So celebrate not the celebrity but the authentic
Stubbornly refusing to stay under ground
Exposing the beauty of nakedness
Being natural in the face of the synthetic

It takes courage to speak up
by: Fion

Hi Adrian, thanks for this poem that makes us ponder on how majority of us will usually remain silent and stay underground. It does take courage to speak up, be heard and be true amidst falsehoods. And I especially like your last line "Being natural in the face of the synthetic".
