An empty ChairThere’s no one there I sit and stare at the empty chairAlone with my phoneWaiting……The silence breaksA machine awakesThe empty chairIs still thereWaitingNot long nowA worried browI continue to stareAt the empty chairWaitingTime ticks byI hear a cryBut no one is thereIn the empty chairAnd still I am waitingThere’s a rip in the chairDon’t suppose they carebecause no one is thereTo sit in the chairWaitingA Passer byThey briefly nod “Hi”They must be elsewhere not filling the chairand so I continue waitingPatiently waiting in a room just for waitingSitting in one chairAnother over thereI stareWaitingI hope she’s ok and knows I am therebaby’s on its way - does she know I careAnd am sitting thereIn a chairWaitingA flurry of commotionThe doors fly openIt’s a Girl they announceBack through the door they bounceI smilenow I’m not Waiting
